About the role
Stream Companies is seeking a Platform Engineer to serve as the primary guardian of our infrastructure and deployment stability for our best-in-class marketing technology platform that serves the automotive retail sector. This role is a strategic evolution development functions —designed for an engineer who prioritizes AWS architecture but understands that a "bulletproof" platform requires healthy CI/CD and automated quality checks.
If you are a cloud specialist who wants more autonomy and less red tape, this is your seat at the table. You will lead our infrastructure strategy while collaborating with our dev team to ensure our deployment pipelines and testing suites are second to none.
The Mission
Your primary objective is the stability, security, and cost-efficiency of our AWS ecosystem. While your "home base" is the cloud, you will play a vital role in supporting our Quality Control (QC) and CI/CD processes to ensure that when we ship code, it stays shipped.
What you'll do
- AWS & Infrastructure Authority (The Priority)
- Architect & Optimize: Take full ownership of our AWS environments (EC2, RDS, S3, ELB, Lambda) to ensure peak performance and 99.9% availability.
- Financial Stewardship: Proactively monitor and optimize cloud spend, treating vendor costs with a high degree of strategic ownership.
- Security & Governance: Maintain servers, load balancers, and security protocols (IAM, AWS Cognito) to ensure a secure, high-availability cloud presence.
Deployment & Quality Support
- CI/CD Management: Maintain and harden our deployment pipelines to ensure seamless, low-risk releases.
- Quality Guardrails: Act as the technical steward for our automated testing tools (Pest PHP and Playwright). You aren't necessarily writing every test, but you are ensuring the "machine" that runs them is fast and reliable.
Engineering Collaboration
- Technical Debt Mitigation: Work alongside the dev team to identify infrastructure-related bottlenecks or framework issues that impact performance.
- Platform Support: Provide a "systems-eye view" during sprints, helping the team troubleshoot environment-specific bugs or data pipeline optimizations (Snowflake/Aurora).
Qualifications
- Cloud Mastery: 5+ years of deep professional experience with AWS. You should be comfortable designing failover architectures and managing complex cloud networking. Bonus for experience in Azure Cloud Environment.
- Systems Expertise: Hands-on experience configuring and maintaining Linux servers. You are a power user of the command line for debugging and system health monitoring.
- CI/CD & Automation: Experience managing deployment workflows and an interest in (or exposure to) automated testing frameworks like Pest or Playwright.
- Functional Code Awareness: You don’t need to be a Senior Full-Stack Dev, but you should be "literate" in PHP and JavaScript. You can read a stack trace, understand a pull request, and help troubleshoot application issues within a Laravel/Vue environment.
- Bonus Points: Experience with AWS Glue, Snowflake, or migrating legacy identity systems to modern solutions like AWS Cognito.
