Job Description

Responsibilities

The groundskeeper must be totally proficient in yards and grounds maintenance and all related equipment. Employee should also have general knowledge of painting products, procedures and requirements. Main duties include care for the hospital grounds including grass cutting, weeding and trimming flower / shrub beds, pruning and trimming trees and hedges, inspecting flowers, shrubs and trees for evidence of insects, pests or disease, collecting leaves and debris, empty trash containers, maintain parking and other public areas, maintain inventory of needed grounds and related supplies, adjust and repair equipment such as lawn mowers and sprinkler systems, and be aware of and implement snow removal procedures. Will perform other duties as required. The groundskeeper must safely operate NHC-owned vehicles to transport patients/guests/equipment/material on campus or to and from various NHC facilities, locations and/or locations as required. May need to pass an initial DOT physical examination and then pass subsequent examinations every two years to operate certain equipment.

**This role requires driving Norton Healthcare vehicles, which could include transporting patients and visitors. You must have a valid driver's license and maintain an acceptable driving record**

Qualifications

Required:
  • Driver's License

  • One year grounds keeping
  • High School Diploma or GED
