About This Position

Description:

JOB SUMMARY

Under the direction of maintenance leadership, the Maintenance Technician will perform maintenance and repairs on equipment such as overhead cranes, scissor lifts, and forklifts. This requires the ability to troubleshoot and diagnose both electrical and hydraulic issues. Although equipment maintenance and repairs are a focus of the position, the Maintenance Technician will also be responsible for other duties including but not limited to facility plumbing and electrical upkeep and installations, as well as other carpentry jobs.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Perform maintenance and repairs on all equipment including, but not limited to, overhead cranes, scissor lifts, forklifts, welding machines, air compressors, paint booths, and CNC machinery.
  • Perform minor carpentry, plumbing, and electrical upkeep as well as any emergency repairs.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems.
  • Conduct regular inspections for necessary upkeep and document all findings.
  • Identify opportunities, solutions, and lead continuous improvement efforts for safety and plant maintenance.
  • Must possess the ability to multi-task and communicate effectively
  • Must be able to work effectively on both independent and team-oriented tasks.
  • Be accountable to complete all work order requests in a timely and cost-effective manner
  • Adheres to company Health, Safety and Environmental policies.
  • Identifies and reports unsafe conditions to the Health & Safety Coordinator.

Required:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Basic computer skills for managing network configurations and maintenance logs
  • Minimum of five years related experience in mechanical assembly or facility maintenance.
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and technical data
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics
  • Electrical Knowledge: Low voltage and high voltage (480 VAC only).
  • Two years of experience in a manufacturing environment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS

While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to sit, walk and stand; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to finger, handle, feel or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 25 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Please note that it is not typical for AGSE employee to be at or near the top of the pay scale for their role - especially as a new hire - and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour

Experience:

  • mechanical/electrical assembly or facility maintenance: 5 years (Required)
  • manufacturing environment: 2 years (Preferred)
