Enterprise and Infrastructure Manager
Job Purpose
The Enterprise and Infrastructure Manager provides the hands-on enterprise and infrastructure management for learning resources and business functions. Our students expect to be able to work, learn, and study whenever and wherever they want to. Work and learning are often two sides of the same coin, and people want easy and timely access not only to the information on the network, but also to tools, resources, and up-to-the moment analysis and commentary. These needs, as well as the increasingly essential access to social media and networks, have risen to the level of expectations. The opportunities for informal learning in the modern world are abundant and diverse, and greatly expand on earlier notions like “just-in-time” or “found” learning. The Enterprise and Infrastructure Manager will provide the “highway” and access to systems to support this new model of instructional delivery and operations.
Specific Responsibilities
  1. Hands-on management of the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the College’s network and technology infrastructure.
  2. Plans and directs acquisition, training, and development of the network support staff, and supervises activities in the performance of network support and troubleshooting functions, including resource planning and scheduling. Collaborating with network administrators, analysts, telecom specialists, and technicians and ITS team managers on the implementation, testing, deployment, and integration of network systems.
  3. Provides reports to the Chief Information Officer regarding network system performance, utilization, and compliance. Participates in decisions concerning hardware and software acquisitions, including the analysis and evaluation of and preparation of technical specifications. Develops, implements, and enforces procedural standards for performing systems development tasks. Participates in a leadership role in the preparation of Request for Proposal (RFP) to meet client department requirements, and in the notification of appropriate hardware/software firms for response, in accordance with legal and district procedures. Interacts with appropriate personnel of IT, client department, and senior management team to evaluate RFP responses to client department hardware/software requirements, and participates in a leadership role in the preparation of recommendations for selection of the supplier firm. Serves as the around-the-clock contact for all related support issues, providing advanced network support.
  4. Managing and mentoring a staff of network professionals. Evaluates performance of the staff, and reports on personnel activities to management.
  5. Develop and manage network budgets. Reviews and approves all proposed systems solutions, including staff, resource, cost and time requirements.
  6. Maintains competency and enhances professional growth and development through continuing education and conferences.
  7. Performs other tasks as assigned or as needed.

Specifications
Education
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Science, Math, Business Administration, Education, or at least 10 years' experience in a related field.
Experience
At least 8 years' experience in an IT operational unit combined with 2 years of management experience.
