JOB SUMMARY
To provide the basic technical skills needed in the analysis, maintenance, calibration, installation, and modification of simple medical and research laboratory equipment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Performs basic analysis and isolation of mechanical or electronic equipment malfunctions.
- Reads and interprets blueprints, wiring, diagrams, and technical manuals used in conjunction with the repair of research laboratory equipment.
- Examines equipment for signs of improper operation and evidence of deterioration.
- Aids in the development of quality control and preventative maintenance.
- Utilizes mechanical and electronic skills to test, evaluate, calibrate, overhaul, install, modify, and update various types of research laboratory electronic systems.
- Performs safety checks on research laboratory equipment.
- Documents work done on all equipment, such as the results of checks, diagnoses, and repairs.
- Adheres to internal controls established for the department.
- Performs related duties as required.
