Full-Time Faculty for Biology Program

DESCRIPTION:

The College of Arts, Sciences, and Professional Studies at Gwynedd Mercy University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in biology for the 2026-2027 academic year. For full consideration, applicants should submit a cover letter, curriculum vita, three letters of recommendation, a brief research summary, and a statement of teaching philosophy. Review of applications will begin on August 25, 2025, and the search will remain open until the position is filled. Candidates chosen for a campus interview will be expected to provide official undergraduate and graduate transcripts before they are hired.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teaching anatomy and physiology for students in the health sciences.

• Teaching physiology and other courses in the biology curriculum, as needed.

• Mentoring undergraduate research.

• Advising biology students.

• Assisting in curriculum and course development.

• Exploring grant opportunities.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND EXPECTATIONS

• A Ph.D. in an appropriate discipline.

• Evidence of excellence in teaching undergraduate courses.

• Understanding of the value of a liberal arts education.

• Demonstration of a strong commitment to research with undergraduate students.
