About the Role: The Accounting Policy and SOX Accounting Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the integrity of financial reporting and compliance with internal controls. This position is responsible for developing, maintaining, and communicating accounting policies in accordance with U.S. GAAP and overseeing the company’s Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance program. This role seek a candidate with deep technical accounting expertise, strong project management skills and a proactive approach to risk mitigation.

As the Accounting Policy and SOX Accounting Manager, you will report directly to the Corporate Assistant Controller. This role is pivotal in addressing technical accounting concepts, driving accounting policy framework, and adherence to an effective SOX environment for Aviat Networks.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead accounting treatment for non-routine transactions such as business combinations, debt and equity arrangements, lease accounting, etc.
  • Research and interpret complex accounting issues for accurate application under US GAAP
  • Monitor changes in accounting standards and assess impact on financial reporting
  • Partner with cross functional teams to ensure consistent application of accounting policies
  • Design, implement, and maintain internal control frameworks in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements
  • Develop and deliver training to process owners on SOX compliance and control responsibilities
  • Identify control deficiencies and oversee remediation plans
  • Coordinate with external auditors and internal auditors on control testing scope and completion of internal controls over financial reporting testing
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Competencies:

  • Minimum 4-8 years’ experience, including public accounting and/or corporate accounting
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and internal control frameworks
  • Good knowledge of the various cultures and ways of working within the sector. Able to adapt and develop / implement plans, strategies and processes in ways suited to local cultures and customs.
  • A good mix of technical financial knowledge, strong commercial business acumen and strong people and organizational management skills.
  • Must be able to take charge of working groups, communicate plans and lead the group to complete an objective.
  • Must be comfortable working on group activities and projects initiated at short notice.
  • Must have working knowledge of standard office software (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint,).
  • CPA, or pursuing a CPA license
