Maintenance Technician I
*This is a temp position. Length of employment 3-4 months*

Position Summary
Performs preventive and daily routine maintenance and repairs to buildings and equipment, in support of engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Assists maintenance engineers in making repairs to specialized equipment and does not make repairs on own unless qualified to do so


• May perform some carpentry and other related work such as patching and painting


• May perform minor work on electrical, plumbing, heating, cooling, and water systems


• Utilizes operational manuals, manufacturer's specifications and blueprints to complete tasks


• Completes daily building rounds and completes appropriate documentation


• Typically reports to a supervisor or manager


• Performs other related duties as assigned


• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field


• Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals


• Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function


• Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned

Requirements and Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred


• Minimum of 1 year facility maintenance experience


• Must have a valid Driver’s License

Working Conditions

• Must be able to lift or move up to 75 lbs


• Must be able to maintain a standing position


• Typical equipment used in an office job


• Must be able to stoop, crouch or bend


• Climbs ladders, balances, kneels, and crouches to make repairs


• Exposure to electrical/ mechanical harm, i.e. faulty equipment


• Work in confined spaces for short periods of time


• Exposure to hazardous chemicals, acids, cleaning solution, disinfectants, soaps, etc.


• Exposure to needles, blood and body fluids, etc.


• Exposure to infectious wastes
