About This Position

Description:

The Housekeeping Team's vision is:

  1. To maintain Parkway’s living environment to the highest standards.
  2. To work with Parkway management staff as a team to create a well-functioning home for the Lucas Family and their guests.
  3. To deliver high-quality cleaning service effectively

This position is typically scheduled Monday through Friday with varying start and finish times and requires availability to work weekends, evenings and holidays as needed and the ability to function independently to execute responsibilities as described here. Typical hours are 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM.

Primary Responsibilities:

Work as part of a cohesive team, with respect of the Family, Guests and Coworkers at all times:

• Clean all living and working areas, guest houses and corridor areas so that standards are met.

• Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and/or draperies, using vacuum cleaners and for shampooers.

• Empty wastebaskets and recycling. Transport all to disposal areas.

• Sweep, scrub, wax, and/or polish floors, using brooms, mops, and/or for powered scrubbing and waxing machines.

• Dust and polish furniture and equipment.

• Keep storage areas and carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy.

• Polish silver accessories and metalwork such as fixtures and fittings.

• Remove debris from driveways, garages, and swimming pool areas.

• Replace light bulbs.

• Replenish supplies such as drinking glasses, linens, writing supplies, and bathroom items.

• Sort clothing and other articles, load washing machines, and iron and fold dried items.

• Sort, count, and mark clean linens, and store them in linen closets.

• Wash windows, walls, ceilings, and woodwork, waxing and polishing as necessary.

• Request repair services and wait for repair workers to arrive.

• Deliver items to guest rooms when necessary

• Hang draperies, and dust window blinds.

• Move and arrange furniture, and turn mattresses.

• Prepare rooms for meetings, and arrange decorations, media equipment, and furniture for social or business functions.

• Take care of and feed pets

• Wash dishes and clean kitchens, cooking utensils, and silverware.

• Carry linens, towels, toilet items, and cleaning supplies

• Clean and prepare fireplaces on estate as needed.

• Strip and make beds daily.

• Dusting

Requirements:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Effective verbal and listening communication skills
  • Management experience required.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working in a housekeeping role in hotel, commercial offices or private residence environment preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Attentions to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Ability to maintain positive work atmosphere by behaving modeling, and communicating in an effective manner with family, guests, coworkers and management
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Follow safety policies and procedures for department as well as winery safety protocols
  • Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality and discretion in performing the duties for the family and estate staff.

  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. to a height of 2 – 3 feet.
  • Ability to carry up to 20 lbs. and walk up and down 3 flights of stairs
  • Ability to walk 3/4 mile at a time, multiple times daily as needed
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, carry, push, kneel, pull on multiple occasions throughout the day
  • Ability to walk ½ mile and climb steps to access guest units.
