Summer Counselor at ElevatEd – Cheswick, Pennsylvania

Hourly Rate: $15–$20/hour (based on education & experience)
Schedule: Mondays–Thursdays, 8:45 AM–1:15 PM
Program Dates: June & July

Adat Shalom Preschool’s Summer Camp is a joyful, high-quality, play-based program designed for young children to explore, create, and grow in a warm and nurturing environment. Our counselors play a key role in making camp a fun and meaningful experience for every child.

We are seeking enthusiastic, caring, and reliable Summer Camp Counselors to support our preschool campers throughout the daily camp schedule. This is a wonderful opportunity for students pursuing education or child-related fields, as well as anyone who loves working with young children in a positive, supportive setting.

• Support teachers in leading daily activities, including outdoor play, crafts, sensory experiences, stories, and group games

• Help maintain a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom and outdoor environment

• Assist children with transitions, snack time, routines, and social interactions

• Model kindness, patience, and positive problem-solving skills

• Communicate effectively and warmly with children, staff, and families

• Follow all program policies and maintain confidentiality

• Ensure the safety and supervision of all children at all times

• Genuine love of working with young children

• Prior experience with children (camp, babysitting, childcare, education classes, or volunteer work) preferred

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Dependable, punctual, and flexible

• Ability to follow routines, support teachers, and maintain a positive attitude

• Must obtain all required Pennsylvania clearances (PA Criminal Background Check, Child Abuse Clearance, FBI Fingerprinting)

• Ideal experience for students pursuing Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Child Development, or related fields

• Hands-on professional experience in a high-quality preschool environment
