Survey Party Chief at Sterling Construction Company, Inc. – Kuna, Idaho

The new hire will be working in a team and eventually task with solo responsibilities - the responsibilities could change depending on the assignment.

The average work hours per week are 40-60+ depending on weather and projects. The ideal candidate needs to be willing to work nights and weekends and occasionally travel out of town.

• • Sets up, adjusts, and operates surveying equipment, including robotic total station, data collector, and GPS equipment.
  • Prepares field notes and drawings; and performs field surveying for roadway, bridges, MSE Walls, Pile, Buildings, Parking structures, utilities, including installing surveying construction stakes and locating or establishing vertical and horizontal control.
  • Maintains field data records, survey project files, and importing/exporting staking files.
  • Proactively upholds all safety polices and standards.
  • Maintains strict adherence to Company policies and procedures.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as directed.

• • A minimum of 3 years of survey experience with a heavy Civil / Highway construction is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience with Trimble and Leica equipment is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Good communication skills, both verbally and written.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, and MS Outlook Exchange is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Drone Part 107 License preferred but not mandatory, able to obtain within 4 months of hire.
