Position Summary

The construction Superintendent will oversee daily operations on a custom construction project and interact with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and on-budget project delivery, while maintaining high customer satisfaction. The ability to lead the completion of a successful project will depend on technical acumen, attention to detail; excellent communication & leadership skills that will be required to thrive in a highly competitive environment - all while upholding the values and culture of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Project Management

  • Lead all phases of custom construction projects, including on-site personnel, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely execution of tasks and milestones.
  • Drive project progress, proactively identify potential problems, and implement solutions to keep projects on track.
  • Deliver projects on time & within budget.
  • Collaborate with designers, purchasing, subcontractors, and project coordinators to ensure quality standards, project timeliness, and company values are upheld.
  • Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, including clients, architects, engineers, project managers, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.
  • Provide regular updates on project progress and any issues that may arise.
  • Support the sales team & executive team in winning deals and managing client expectations throughout the lifecycle of the project.
  • Represent the company in a confident but selfless manner in client meetings, site visits, and community events.

On-Site Leadership and Coordination

  • Coordinate activities of subcontractors, ensuring they adhere to project plans, specifications, and schedules.
  • Maintain a safe and orderly work environment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and procedures.
  • Properly allocate materials and equipment, ensuring timely delivery and proper storage.
  • Resolve construction disputes or conflicts between subcontractors or suppliers.
  • Manage inventory of site materials.
  • Obtain construction permits from local authorities and pass inspections.

Quality Control:

  • Ensure that construction work meets ELH quality standards, local building codes and customer expectations.
  • Effectively work onsite in order to identify and rectify any quality issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of project progress, materials used, and any changes made to the project. Leverage BuilderTrend project management software.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive base salary ($75,000 - $90,000 DOE)

Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Two or Four-Year College Degree in Construction Management preferred, but not mandatory; or a minimum of 5 years of successful experience as a Superintendent.
  • Proven leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Solid understanding of construction processes, budgeting, scheduling, and vendor management.
  • Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and negotiating skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and construction documents.
  • Hands on experience with project management and construction software (e.g., Buildertrend, CoConstruct, Procore, etc.).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 (including Excel)
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
