Summary:
Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer
Reports to: Director of Operations
Work Type: Full Time, Permanent
Salary Range: $50,000.00 – $80,000.00
Location: Aurora, Ontario
As Manufacturing Engineer, you will work closely with other departments to launch new products, executing productivity projects with the desired costs, quality, and efficiency. You will be responsible for the following responsibilities, which include but not be limited to:
What You’ll Do:
- Be responsible for leading, planning, directing, and coordinating the development and execution of manufacturing system strategic objectives.
- Assures that all quality requirements, engineering testing requirements & standards are included in all work and/or working instructions, testing procedures and other documentation.
- Work closely with Quality, Engineering, and Production to investigate root causes and come up with correction, corrective actions, and preventive actions.
- Provide training, coaching, and mentoring junior team members & develop cross-functional project leadership talent.
- Lead cross-functional team to drive cost reduction during product life cycle.
- Recommend product changes/improvements to Design Engineers based upon PFMEA’s and manufacturability, determine effectivity of changes and assure compliance to such. Observe/monitor new technologies, competitors, industry trends and report to management.
- Participate in early new product development activities as Operations Management Representative; ensure Design for Manufacturability and cost effective.
- Support necessary personnel for internal, customer and third-party quality system audits.
- Support customer quotation and technical inquiry.
- Occasionally business travel.
- Other duties as assigned.
What You’ll Bring:
- Completion of a Mechatronics/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering Degree or equivalent
- 3-5 years Manufacturing Engineering experience in a low volume, high-mix manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Solid knowledge in hardware/software test or validation methodology and proficient documentation capability, including test report, RCA (Root cause analysis) etc.
- Good experience of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA/PFMEA) is an asset
- Good knowledge of ERP software, BOM structures, routings, Engineering Change process and non-conforming process.
- Project management/coordination experience is an asset.
- Strong computer skills (including AutoCAD/Solid Works – latest version, MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Visio)
