EXECUTIVE CHEF – HAL’S THE STEAKHOUSE (NASHVILLE)

Position Summary

Hal’s the Steakhouse is seeking an experienced, passionate, and dedicated Executive Chef to lead the kitchen at our Nashville location and uphold the standards that have made Hal’s one of the most respected fine-dining steakhouses. This role requires a strong leader with a deep understanding of premium steak and seafood preparation, and a commitment to delivering an elevated guest experience. The Executive Chef will oversee all kitchen operations, maintain the highest standards of quality and consistency, and lead a professional, disciplined culinary team.

Key Responsibilities

Kitchen Leadership & Operations

• Oversee all daily kitchen operations and service execution
• Ensure consistent preparation, quality, and presentation of all menu items
• Maintain proper handling and preparation of premium steaks, seafood, and ingredients
• Lead the kitchen during service, ensuring efficiency, organization, and teamwork
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional kitchen environment

Team Leadership & Accountability

• Hire, train, and develop Sous Chefs, Line Cooks and Prep Cooks
• Create and manage staff scheduled based on business needs
• Hold the team accountable to Hal’s standards of excellence and professionalism
• Foster a respectful, team-oriented culture
• Lead by example through professionalism, work ethic, and consistency

Cost Control & Inventory

• Manage food cost, inventory, ordering, and vendor relationships
• Ensure proper product handling, storage, and rotation
• Monitor portioning and waste to maintain profitability and consistency
• Track invoice submissions

Standards & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation standards
• Maintain readiness for inspections at all times
• Uphold the quality and consistency that define the Hal’s brand

Leadership Collaboration

• Work closely with ownership and management to ensure operational excellence
• Support special events and VIP guests
• Help maintain and strengthen Hal’s reputation in the Nashville market

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a kitchen leadership role, preferably in fine dining or upscale steakhouses
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Experience managing high-volume, high-standard kitchens
• Proven ability to manage food cost, labor, and inventory
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to lead effectively in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment
