Maintenance Technician (Full Time)
Reports to: Senior Maintenance Manager
Supervisor of: None (may assist volunteers as needed)
Purpose and Vision:
The Maintenance Technician serves as a hands-on, mobile facilities support role responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, repair, and upkeep of church buildings across multiple campuses.
This role exists to ensure safe, clean, functional, and welcoming environments that support ministry teams and help create spaces where people can Find and Follow Jesus.
By executing timely repairs, preventative maintenance, and proactive inspections, the Maintenance Technician plays a vital role in stewardship, operational excellence, and minimizing facility disruptions across all locations.
Teams
Team Member: Central Services Team, Operations Team, & Facilities Team
Location, Travel & Working Times:
Sunday-Thursday, with after hours on call emergency availability
On-call availability for urgent or emergency maintenance situations
Travel required between multiple church campuses
Skills, Abilities:
- Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, doors/locks, lighting, and minor repairs
- Ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve maintenance issues efficiently
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple work orders across different locations
- Strong time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks based on urgency and impact
- Clear communicator able to collaborate with staff, volunteers, and vendors
- Safety-minded with strong attention to detail and compliance standards
- Adaptable and dependable in changing environments and urgent situations

Primary Responsibilities:
Facility Maintenance & Repairs
Perform routine and corrective maintenance across all assigned church facilities
Address work orders related to plumbing, electrical, HVAC support, lighting, doors, fixtures, furniture, and general repairs
Complete minor construction, patching, painting, and facility improvements as assigned
Assist with room setups, breakdowns, and facility readiness for events and services as needed
Preventative Maintenance & Inspections
Conduct regular walkthroughs and inspections to identify maintenance concerns early
Support preventative maintenance programs for building systems and equipment
Document issues clearly and communicate findings to the Senior Maintenance Manager.
Assist with seasonal readiness tasks (weather prep, safety checks, equipment testing)
Work Order & Communication Support
Receive, prioritize, and complete assigned work orders in a timely and professional manner
Provide clear updates on task status, delays, or additional needs
Escalate issues requiring vendor support or specialized repair
Maintain accurate documentation of completed work and materials used
Sunday Support & Emergency Response
Serve as the primary Maintenance point of contact during Sunday services, providing rapid response, troubleshooting, and support for maintenance needs across all six campuses.
Provide immediate response to facility emergencies involving electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems during service hours, ensuring safety, functionality, and continuity of services.
Financial Stewardship & Operational Excellence
Exercise faithful stewardship of ministry resources by developing, managing, and operating within approved budgets, ensuring financial decisions align with Cross Point's mission, values, and strategic priorities.
Model personal accountability and integrity in spending practices, including timely, accurate submission of expense reports and adherence to all financial policies and procedures.
Contribute to operational excellence by following established maintenance processes, identifying improvement opportunities, and helping reduce downtime and service disruptions.
Requirements & Experience
3–5+ years of hands-on experience in facility maintenance, building services, or a related trade
Working knowledge of commercial building systems and safety practices
Valid driver's license with the ability to travel between campuses
Ability to lift, climb, and perform physical tasks required for maintenance work
Experience working in churches, schools, or multi-facility environments preferred
