About This Position

Quality Engineering Manager

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Quality Engineering Manager in the United States.
This role offers the opportunity to lead and elevate software quality practices in a dynamic, AI-enabled environment. As a Quality Engineering Manager, you will bridge engineering and quality disciplines to design scalable, high-performing test systems that ensure reliable delivery across the software lifecycle. You will guide a team of Software Development Engineers in Test (SDETs), implement AI-assisted testing tools, and shape quality metrics that directly impact product reliability and business outcomes. This position emphasizes hands-on technical leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and the creation of sustainable frameworks for release confidence. Ideal candidates thrive in fast-paced, innovative environments, enjoy mentoring engineers, and are passionate about building systems that scale with precision and efficiency.
Accountabilities:
  • Lead the transformation of Quality Engineering into a scalable, AI-enabled SDET discipline.
  • Design, build, and maintain reusable test frameworks, orchestration platforms, and quality infrastructure.
  • Drive software quality strategy across unit, integration, API, system, and end-to-end testing, including non-functional areas such as performance, reliability, security, and accessibility.
  • Implement CI/CD automation workflows, automated quality gates, and fast, deterministic feedback loops to optimize signal quality and minimize developer overhead.
  • Champion enterprise-grade test reporting and analytics to turn execution data into actionable insights and decision-grade quality intelligence.
  • Integrate AI-assisted tools for test generation, maintenance, failure analysis, and reporting while establishing responsible adoption guardrails.
  • Recruit, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of SDETs while promoting technical rigor, craftsperson-ship, and cross-functional enablement.
  • Collaborate across Engineering, Product, Platform, Security, and Customer-facing teams to embed quality upstream and ensure long-term system reliability.

Requirements:
  • 8+ years of experience in software quality, test automation, or engineering leadership, with increasing responsibility.
  • Proven leadership of engineering teams of 512+ engineers and demonstrated success in organizational enablement.
  • Hands-on experience building test frameworks, orchestration systems, and quality-focused tooling.
  • Deep expertise in TypeScript/JavaScript ecosystems (React, Jest, Playwright, Cypress) and polyglot experience (Node.js, Python, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD, test automation architecture, and enterprise quality reporting platforms.
  • Ability to translate complex problems into first principles and execute with ownership and long-term systems thinking.
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration, mentorship, and communication skills.
  • Experience with AI-enabled testing practices and analytics-driven quality insights preferred.

Benefits:
  • Competitive salary with equity based on role.
  • Flexible work-from-home policy, with remote or hybrid options and access to a modern office environment.
  • Generous paid time off, parental leave, and work/life balance policies.
  • 100% paid premium medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Lifestyle stipends supporting physical, emotional, and financial wellbeing.
  • Opportunities for career growth, mentoring, and professional development.
  • Participation in employee-led diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
