Job description:
The Speech Pathology Group and Rehab Services of CT is a highly passionate and skilled multidisciplinary team seeking a dynamic, talented, and fun PEDIATRIC PHYSICAL THERAPIST (Shelton office) to join our SPGCT family. In addition to PT, SPGCT offers families a broad scope of services including speech, ABA, occupational, and aquatic therapy services!
Our ideal candidate has experience in pediatrics both treatment and evaluation and has treatment experience in some or all of the following areas: Developmental, Movement and mobility, strengthening, Motor learning, Balance and coordination, Recreation, play, and leisure, Daily care activities and routines, Equipment design, fabrication, and fitting, Tone management, Assistive technology, Posture, positioning, and lifting, Orthotics and prosthetics (preferred but not required), orthopedics.
Pediatric Physical Therapist Responsibilities:
Evaluation of children and comfort with family interview/education to determine need for service (PT)
Create unique, individualized treatment plans that outline the treatment goals and methods to be used.
Help children to learn to move their bodies correctly, make their movements less painful, increase the functions of injured body parts, and heal from injuries.
Assess patients and monitoring their progress.
Coordinate a child's care with other healthcare professionals and participating in multidiscipline collaboration opportunities.
Implement treatment in fun and creative ways to serve our pediatric population.
Teach children and their families about safety and home exercises
Any additional tasks as outlined in job description or requested by administration
Pediatric Physical Therapist/Assistant Requirements:
A CT state license for practice of PT
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Attention to detail, patience, and empathy.
Manual dexterity and physical endurance to lift patients and heavy equipment.
Previous experience with pediatrics
Strong leadership skills to continue to develop and grow SPGCT’s current PT program
Comfort with swimming/aquatics (preferred)
