The Automotive Service Advisor serves as the critical liaison between customers and the automotive service department, ensuring a seamless and positive experience from vehicle drop-off to pick-up. This role involves accurately diagnosing customer concerns, communicating service recommendations clearly, and coordinating with technicians to facilitate timely and quality repairs. The Service Advisor is responsible for managing service appointments, providing cost estimates, and maintaining detailed records of services performed. By delivering exceptional customer service and fostering trust, the advisor helps build long-term relationships that drive customer loyalty and repeat business. Ultimately, this position plays a vital role in the operational success and reputation of the automotive service center.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Previous experience in automotive service advising or a related customer service role within the automotive industry.
- Basic understanding of automotive systems and repair processes.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with computer systems and service management software.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Reynolds & Reynolds knowledge preferred
- Experience working in a dealership environment (Honda experience A plus)
- Familiarity with automotive parts and inventory management.
- Bilingual abilities, particularly in Spanish and English.
- Advanced knowledge of automotive diagnostic tools and software.
Responsibilities:
- Greet customers promptly and courteously, listening attentively to their vehicle concerns and service needs.
- Schedule service appointments and manage workflow to optimize technician productivity and customer satisfaction.
- Prepare accurate repair orders and provide clear explanations of recommended services and associated costs.
- Communicate effectively with technicians to ensure proper diagnosis and timely completion of repairs.
- Follow up with customers regarding service status, approvals, and post-service satisfaction.
- Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, vehicle service history, and parts inventory.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve complaints professionally to uphold dealership standards.
- Promote additional services and maintenance plans that benefit the customer and the service department.
