POSITION SUMMARYBanquet Supervisor
The Banquet Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the execution of all banquet and event operations, ensuring each function is delivered to the highest standards of service, quality, and professionalism. This role plays a key leadership position in coordinating staff, managing event logistics, and collaborating with culinary, catering, and event planning teams to create exceptional guest experiences.
The Banquet Supervisor leads by example, trains and supports banquet staff, and ensures events run smoothly from setup through breakdown. The success of each banquet and event directly reflects the supervisor’s leadership, organization, and attention to detail.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESEvent & Banquet OperationsOversee the setup, execution, and breakdown of all banquet and event functions in accordance with client specifications and resort standards.
Ensure banquet rooms are properly set, staged, and maintained throughout events.
Coordinate closely with kitchen, catering, conference services, and event planning teams to ensure timely and seamless service delivery.
Monitor event flow and service quality, making real-time adjustments as needed.
Train, supervise, and support banquet staff to ensure consistent service standards.
Assign staff positions and responsibilities for each event.
Provide ongoing coaching, guidance, and performance feedback to banquet team members.
Assist with staffing coverage and scheduling as needed.
Serve as the on-site point of contact during events.
Proactively address guest needs, concerns, or service issues to ensure high levels of satisfaction.
Resolve complaints professionally and efficiently while maintaining a calm, service-focused environment.
Monitor and manage banquet inventory, supplies, linens, equipment, and service items.
Ensure all banquet areas meet cleanliness, safety, and presentation standards.
Enforce food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety policies.
Maintain compliance with all Shanty Creek Resorts policies and procedures.
Communicate event details clearly to banquet staff prior to each function.
Collaborate with leadership to support continuous improvement in banquet operations.
Complete required documentation or reporting related to events as assigned.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Successful execution of banquet events meeting service and quality standards.
Staff preparedness, performance, and professionalism during events.
Guest satisfaction and effective issue resolution.
Organization, cleanliness, and readiness of banquet spaces and equipment.

High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Previous supervisory experience in hospitality, banquet, or event operations.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with the capacity to manage multiple events simultaneously.
Degree in Hospitality Management or a related field.
Experience with event planning or banquet management software.
Food safety and sanitation certification.
Experience in a resort, luxury hotel, or high-end restaurant environment.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced event environment.
Attention to detail and commitment to service quality.
This position requires extended periods of standing, walking, and moving equipment.
Work hours may include evenings, weekends, and holidays based on event schedules.
The work environment is fast-paced and guest-facing.
