Harriman has an exciting opportunity for a qualified individual to join our firm as a Senior Civil Engineer. Harriman promotes a holistic and inclusive approach to design, and our civil engineering team works closely with our other internal architectural and engineering studios to develop high-level efficient and coordinated designs. Our civil engineering staff also work directly with prime engineering clients on a diverse group of project types. What you'll do here:
• Get involved in Harriman’s face-paced design environment to provide support for our civil engineering and land development projects.
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, landscape architects, and architectural team members within our full-service firm.
• Develop and support our design through site layout, grading, storm drainage, utility design, environmental design, facility planning, roadway design, and permitting for a variety of project types including educational facilities, municipal facilities, retail and mixed-use developments, and more.
• Manage projects and staff on certain projects as appropriate.
• Complete engineering calculations for grading, drainage design, storm-water modeling, erosion and sediment control, and stormwater permitting.
• Participate in facility assessment and prepare technical reports and assessments.
• Produce engineering documents and civil engineering specifications, including permitting documents for state and local permits.
• Support projects during construction administration phase.
• Be given opportunities to learn and grow your skills as a civil engineer and a design professional.
Requirements:• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited program.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience preferred
• Professional engineering license, with ability to obtain State of Maine license within 3 months.
• Experience designing and permitting in Maine, New Hampshire, or Massachusetts.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and maintain client relationships.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently and develop detailed construction documents and specifications.
• Knowledge of design and analysis software including AutoCad, Civil 3D and HydroCAD is preferred.
• Willingness to actively engage in professional engineering organizations such as ASCE, ACEC, and others.
