Position Overview
We are looking for a Junior DevOps Engineer to join our infrastructure team and grow into a skilled DevOps professional. You will learn by doing, working alongside experienced engineers to build CI/CD pipelines, manage cloud infrastructure, and automate operational tasks. This is an investment role: we are hiring for potential and will provide the mentorship, training, and real-world projects you need to build a strong DevOps career in healthcare technology.
Why This Role Matters
DevOps is the backbone of how we ship software reliably and keep systems running. As you grow in this role, you will directly contribute to faster deployments, fewer production incidents, and more efficient operations. Every automation you build saves the team time. Every pipeline you improve gets features to users faster. This is where you learn to make technology operations excellent.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for application deployments using Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or similar tools
• Learn and apply Infrastructure-as-Code principles using Terraform, ARM templates, or Bicep under senior engineer guidance
• Support containerization efforts using Docker and assist with container orchestration basics
• Write automation scripts in Python or Bash to streamline repetitive operational tasks
• Monitor application and infrastructure health using logging and alerting tools, escalating issues as needed
• Participate in incident response and troubleshooting, learning root cause analysis techniques
• Maintain documentation for infrastructure configurations, runbooks, and deployment procedures
• Collaborate with development teams to understand application architecture and deployment requirements
• Participate in code reviews and learn Git workflows for infrastructure code
Requirements:
Required Qualifications
• Recent graduate with a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field
• Foundational knowledge of Git version control and basic command-line proficiency
• Programming ability in Python or Bash for scripting and automation
• Basic understanding of Docker containers and CI/CD concepts
• Familiarity with cloud computing concepts, preferably Azure
• Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn new technologies quickly
• Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications
• Internship or project experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, or systems administration
• Exposure to Azure cloud services through coursework, certifications, or personal projects
• Familiarity with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Azure Monitor, or similar)
• Basic understanding of networking concepts (DNS, HTTP, TCP/IP, load balancing)
• Any Azure or AWS certification (even foundational level)
What Success Looks Like
• In 90 days: You have completed onboarding, built your first CI/CD pipeline with guidance, and can independently execute routine deployment and monitoring tasks
• In 6 months: You are owning a defined set of infrastructure responsibilities, have automated at least two manual processes, and are contributing to pipeline improvements with decreasing supervision
• Ongoing: You are growing into a mid-level DevOps engineer, taking on more complex infrastructure projects, and earning the trust of the team to handle critical systems independently
