Skills and proficiency in oral and written grammar, spelling, punctuation, and basic mathematics as acquired through official completion of high school or its equivalent. Must show proficiency in medical terminology or complete course within 6 months or employment.

Knowledge of job content and requirements as acquired by on-the-job training and knowledge of hospital and departmental policies and procedures as acquired through orientation and preceptorship. Health Care and clerical experience preferred.

Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Working knowledge of personal computers and ability to learn a variety of software programs. Proficient spelling and grammatical skills. Attention to detail with excellent planning and organizational skills. Communicate effectively in both oral and written forms. Ability to operate standard office equipment including, but not limited to, a calculator, fax machine, copier, printer and scanner. Ability to successfully maintain effective work relationships. Ability to maintain organization and multitask.
