About This Position

Description:

Allied OMS is a doctor-owned, doctor-led, and doctor-governed management services organization (MSO) in the oral and maxillofacial surgery space that combines the best of private practice with the best of private equity.

Leveraging decades of experience building platform businesses in the healthcare industry and collectively owned by member surgeons, private equity, and management consulting veterans, Allied OMS offers essential tools for maximizing practice value.

Grounded in clinical excellence, doctors in the Allied OMS network maintain essential roles in management, governance, and clinical practice and participate directly in the platform's growth. Seventy-five percent of the Allied OMS board of directors are doctor members, and Allied OMS doctors lead 100% of the platform's management committees.

Founded in 2020 in partnership with DuneGlass Capital, a healthcare services-focused independent sponsor, the Allied OMS network now includes 75 doctors serving patients from 56 locations in Arizona, California, Colorado, Illinois, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia.

About the Role
The Sr Data Analyst, Doctor Compensation is a critical role responsible for the accuracy, validation, and reconciliation of doctor compensation across Allied OMS practices. This position owns provider earnings integrity and ensures all collections, adjustments, refunds, and contractual compensation components are accurately captured, validated, and paid.

This role has high visibility across the organization and the ability to make an immediate impact through process improvement, controls, and enhanced transparency around doctor compensation. It sits within the Finance organization and partners closely with Accounting, Payroll, Data, Operations, and HR. The role requires prior experience managing complex, collections-based provider compensation models and performing retrospective true-ups in a multi-EMR environment.

This is not a junior analytical role and is not aligned to HR compensation or benefits functions.

Key Responsibilities – Doctor Compensation Accuracy, Oversight & Ownership

  • Own the end-to-end validation of doctor compensation calculations, including base pay, productivity-based earnings, incentives, and contractual adjustments
  • Ensure compensation outputs align with executed employment agreements, shareholder agreements, and approved compensation structures
  • Maintain continuous oversight of provider earnings to ensure accuracy, consistency, and timeliness
  • Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and risk areas in existing compensation processes and implement improvements

Quarterly True-Ups & Retrospective Analysis

  • Perform quarterly and ad-hoc true-ups by reconciling historical collections, refunds, takebacks, and charge corrections
  • Conduct detailed look-back analyses to ensure post-period adjustments are properly reflected in doctor compensation
  • Maintain clear, audit-ready documentation supporting all retroactive compensation adjustments

EMR, Collections & Financial Reconciliation

  • Extract, normalize, and reconcile provider-level data from multiple EMRs and practice management systems
  • Partner with Accounting to validate collections data against billing reports, general ledger activity, and bank deposits
  • Identify, research, and resolve discrepancies across EMRs, payroll systems, and financial records

Refunds, Adjustments & Revenue Integrity

  • Ensure refunds, insurance takebacks, patient credits, and other financial adjustments are accurately attributed and timed for compensation purposes
  • Partner with Accounting and Operations to confirm proper classification and treatment of adjustments
  • Monitor trends and anomalies in collections and compensation data and escalate issues proactively

Controls, Reporting & Audit Support

  • Establish and maintain repeatable validation processes and internal controls related to doctor compensation
  • Support internal and external audits by providing clear documentation, reconciliations, and analysis
  • Prepare compensation analyses and summaries for Finance and Executive Leadership

Cross-Functional Partnership & Doctor Interaction

  • Serve as the primary Finance partner on doctor compensation matters across Accounting, Payroll, Data, Operations, and HR
  • Collaborate with Data and Operations to improve data quality, reporting consistency, and system outputs
  • Support HR with compensation validation related to employment agreements, amendments, onboarding, and offboarding events
  • Respond to doctor compensation questions with clear, accurate, and professional explanations supported by data
  • Communicate complex financial concepts in a manner that is understandable, factual, and confidence-building for physicians
  • Support integration of newly acquired practices by validating compensation data and EMR outputs
Requirements:
  • 7+ years of experience in healthcare finance, provider compensation, physician payroll, or revenue-based compensation analysis
  • Direct, hands-on experience working with EMRs and practice management systems
  • Proven experience performing retrospective true-ups and reconciling refunds, adjustments, and historical corrections
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong comfort working with large, complex datasets
  • Demonstrated ability to clearly articulate financial outcomes and resolve questions with senior stakeholders, including physicians

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in an MSO, DSO, or multi-site healthcare organization
  • Familiarity with multiple EMRs across acquired or legacy practices
  • Experience partnering closely with Accounting on general ledger reconciliation and audit support
  • Exposure to payroll systems supporting complex, non-standard compensation structures
