About This Position

The Grain Facility Operations II position is responsible for performing day-to-day operations at the grain facility, including weighing inbound and outbound trucks, grading grain, assisting with grain handling and storage, maintaining equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. This role plays a key part in ensuring efficient and accurate handling of agricultural commodities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Operate scale system to weigh inbound and outbound grain trucks accurately.
  • Enter and verify data for tickets, including customer, commodity, weight, and moisture content.
  • Communicate with truck drivers regarding instructions and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with the receiving, drying, storing, and loading of grain.
  • Monitor grain quality (moisture, test weight, and condition) and perform basic grading procedures.
  • Operate grain handling equipment including conveyors, augers, dryers, and bins.
  • Assist with facility maintenance and housekeeping to ensure a clean, safe working environment.
  • Load trucks and barges as needed according to specifications.
Safety & Compliance:
  • Follow all safety procedures and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Report safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, or quality issues to the supervisor promptly.
  • Wear appropriate PPE and participate in required safety trainings.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
  • Experience in agriculture, grain handling, or a similar industrial environment (preferred but not required).
  • Basic computer/data entry skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in dusty environments, extreme weather, and around moving equipment.
  • Ability to climb stairs or steps multiple times throughout the day as part of routine facility access and operations.
  • Willingness to work extended hours during harvest or peak seasons, including weekends.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
Work Environment:
  • Indoor and outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
  • Exposure to dust, grain, and mechanical equipment.
  • Seasonal workload may require overtime or extended hours.
