About This Position
Job purpose
The primary purpose of this role is transport repossessed units and repossess impound repossession orders as instructed by Transporter Team Lead.
Duties and responsibilities
The following list of primary job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
• Transport all repossessed units.
• Transport units to correct storage location. Verify vin number on unit, location and ensure you have correct paperwork for transport.
• Repossess impound units from impound lots and transport to correct storage location. Ensure you have correct paperwork and funds needed to pick unit up.
• Bring sale units to Freeway Lane location using report from Team Lead.
• Balance Petty Cash envelope each Monday with supervisor.
• Truck Maintenance
• Check repossession truck daily to ensure vehicle is road ready. Tire pressure and fluid levels are good.
• Inform GM and MRS mechanic of any mechanical issues with truck.
Truck responsibilities
• You are responsible for transport truck.
• Start of each shift ensuring tires and fluids are at correct levels before driving. Also ensure you have proper equipment needed to perform daily job.
• That you do not damage truck.
• You are to schedule oil changes with MRS mechanic every 6,000 miles.
• Inform GM and MRS mechanics of any issues with truck and schedule a time with MRS mechanics to have problem addressed.
• Check tread wear of tires and inform GM when tread is below 4/32 for front and 2/32 for rears.
• Truck is to be organized and interior clean and no personal items left in truck.
• Wash and detail truck once weekly.
Qualifications
Qualifications include:
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be able to be insured by our insurance carrier.
• Physically qualified to drive a commercial vehicle.
• Has current valid chauffeurs license.
• Is not disqualified to drive a commercial vehicle.
• A minimum of 2 years of previous towing experience.
• Must have or be able be issued a DOT card.
Working conditions
This position requires sitting in truck for longer periods of time, standing, walking and repetitive movements and use of mechanical controls.
Other Work Requirements
May be required to work evenings and weekends.
Successfully pass pre-employment testing including criminal background check, credit check and drug testing.
Physical requirements
Heavy lifting may be required at random times.
