Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Front Desk Receptionist to join our medical office team. This position is responsible for providing exceptional patient service by managing front desk operations, including greeting and registering patients, verifying insurance, collecting payments, scheduling appointments, and ensuring smooth patient flow throughout the clinic.
This is a float position requiring coverage at multiple clinic locations as needed. The ideal candidate is professional, dependable, adaptable, and able to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Reliable transportation and punctuality are required.
Check-In Responsibilities- Welcome patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner
- Verify and update patient demographics and insurance information
- Collect co-pays, deductibles, and outstanding balances at check-in and check-out
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments as needed
- Prepare and review visit summaries, referrals, and follow-up instructions
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure efficient patient flow
- Schedule follow-up visits, referrals, and procedures
- Collect payments and provide receipts
- Ensure all required documentation is complete prior to patient departure
- Provide visit summaries and patient instructions
- Communicate scheduling or flow concerns with clinical staff
- Answer phones and manage patient inquiries courteously and efficiently
- Maintain confidentiality of patient records (HIPAA compliance)
- Assist with general office and administrative tasks as needed
- This is a float position
- Travel between clinic locations is required based on operational needs
- Reliable transportation and the ability to arrive on time to assigned locations is essential
- High school diploma or equivalent (some college or medical office training preferred).
- Prior experience in a medical office or healthcare setting strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of electronic health record (EHR) systems and insurance verification procedures.
- Excellent customer service, organizational, and communication skills.
