This role is responsible for developing, maintaining, and implementing software solutions that support aviation safety, operational analytics, and technical modernization initiatives. You will work on complex computational problems, data integration, and visualization projects that enhance decision-making and operational performance in highly regulated technical environments. The position requires expertise in programming, algorithm design, and data analysis, with a focus on aviation or similar mission-critical systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate and deploy solutions, contribute to technical planning, and ensure compliance with organizational and federal software standards. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and experienced in software development within high-stakes, safety-critical domains. Develop, implement, and maintain software solutions, algorithms, and visualizations to support aviation safety and operational analytics.
Design dashboards and analytics tools to aid in decision-making and program reporting.
Perform data extraction, integration, and text mining to support technical and operational insights.
Utilize simulation environments, laboratories, and test facilities to validate and deploy solutions.
Collaborate with engineering, technical, and analytical teams, contributing to technical planning and guidance.
Apply computational methods and programming principles to solve complex, safety-critical problems.
Ensure compliance with software quality, safety, and operational standards.
Prepare documentation, reports, and presentations to communicate methodologies, findings, and recommendations.
U.S. Citizen or Green Card Permanent Resident (minimum 3 years U.S. residency) and ability to obtain FAA Public Trust.
Doctorate in Computer Science, Programming, Engineering, Science, or related technical field with 10+ years relevant experience; or Master’s with 15+ years; or Bachelor’s with 17+ years (5 years of relevant experience may substitute for a Bachelor’s degree).
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, Java, C++, or equivalent.
Experience with software development, algorithm implementation, and data visualization.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.
Experience in aviation, aerospace, or other highly regulated technical environments preferred.
Familiarity with software development best practices, version control, and collaborative environments.
Knowledge of data engineering, AI/ML applications, and operational analytics platforms is desirable.
Experience integrating software with dashboards, visualization tools, and simulation/test facilities preferred.
Competitive salary range: USD $127,100 – $198,575 per year.
