About This Position
Entry-level counseling staff working toward licensure. This role is integral to the development and implementation of holistic, culturally informed services designed to meet the unique needs of the Snoqualmie Tribal community. The incumbent will be expected to operate with a high degree of independence, engage in interdepartmental collaboration, and contribute to long-term strategic goals. Successful candidates must demonstrate a deep respect for and understanding of Indigenous knowledge systems, traditions, and community structures.
Essential Duties:
- Provide mental health counseling services under the supervision of a fully licensed mental health provider and approved supervisor.
- Provide individual and group counseling, mental Health assessments and diagnosis, treatment planning, maintain proper documentation, crisis stabilization, suicide risk assessment.
- Coordination with other providers for coordination of care.
- Participate in individual and group supervision
Additional Duties:
- Maintain thorough and confidential documentation of all interactions in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Attend continuing education and training sessions to remain current with best practices and Tribal health initiatives.
- The Tribe values its commitment to community service and the well-being of its members. In recognition of this, each employee may be expected to perform duties from time to time which may not be related to their regular responsibilities.

- Pending or active Washington State License or associates license (LMHCA, LSWAIC)
- Excellent customer service skills and written and verbal communication.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate with diverse populations in a courteous, helpful, and clearly understood manner.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and a commitment to ethical clinical standards.
- Comfortable working with computers, Microsoft Office, and other software programs including relevant Patient Management systems.
- Cultural competency of Native cultures, history, traditions, and healing ceremonies strongly preferred.
- Excellent teamwork skills and work well with others among the varied departments within tribal services.
- Have a growth mindset related to personal and professional growth
Education & Experience:
Education Required:
- Completed Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in mental health counseling or related behavioral health sciences
- Have passed state licensing exam for your specialty or have met WAC requirements for eligibility to sit for the exam.
Experience:
- Experience with trauma informed care and treatment.
- Experience working in Native communities with families and parents strongly preferred.
Certifications/Licenses:
- Be fully aware of Washington State Licensing requirements and what is required for supervision hours post-graduation.
Other Requirements:
- Must be able to pass a thorough pre-employment background investigation.
- Must agree to be subject to the Tribe's Controlled Substance and Alcohol Testing Policy to include pre-employment screening.
- Upon hire, successfully complete and maintain defensive driving, fire suppression, passenger assistance, HIPPA, Cultural sensitivity, and child safety seat securement trainings.
Work Environment:
The work environment includes an office environment in a controlled atmosphere building. This position also includes frequent driving of a motor vehicle and transportation of clients to and from their homes and their appointments.

The Snoqualmie Indian Tribe follows the Tribal Hiring Preference as outlined in tribal policies, including the Tribal Employment Rights Ordinance (TERO). TERO sets forth certain hiring preferences for qualified individuals who are enrolled in a federally recognized Indian tribe, as well as, in some cases, preference for certain family members of those individuals.
Additional Information:
- Compensation will be determined based on experience and starts at $76,159.67 per year.
- This position is a full-time position and employment is at will.
