JOB DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the Head of Security, the Porter is responsible for supporting the overall cleanliness and upkeep of the campus, including but not limited to office areas, warehouse buildings, and surrounding grounds. This role plays a key part in ensuring that all public and workspaces remain clean, safe, and presentable for employees and visitors. Duties include routine cleaning, light groundskeeping, and collaboration with the housekeeping team, as well as reporting any maintenance or safety concerns observed during daily tasks.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in maintaining cleanliness and general upkeep of all campus areas, including office spaces, warehouse buildings, and surrounding grounds.
  • Ensure public areas remain clean and free of trash, debris, and other hazards.
  • Support routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and waste disposal across designated facilities.
  • Perform light groundskeeping duties to maintain a tidy and safe outdoor environment.
  • Provide assistance to the housekeeping team as needed, including special cleaning projects or coverage during absences.
  • Report any maintenance or safety issues observed during cleaning duties to the appropriate personnel.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and procedures while operating cleaning equipment and handling cleaning agents.
  • Maintain a positive and professional demeanor while interacting with staff and visitors.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Adhere to the daily schedule, completing all assigned duties and maintaining the upkeep of designated areas and equipment.

PHYSICAL AND WORKING CONDITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, standing, walking, and squatting for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Regular use of cleaning equipment, such as vacuums, floor buffers, and power washers.
  • Work may occur during regular or after hours, depending on the facility’s needs.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and handle physical labor consistently.
  • Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years of experience in commercial cleaning required in high profile facilities.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience and knowledge of cleaning supplies, products, equipment, and procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to handle cleaning chemicals and equipment safely.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Must be able to pass a background and drug screening for hire and randomly throughout employment.

The pay range for this role is:
15 - 15 USD per hour(01 - Globalternative Solutions - Houston)
