Practice areas include Statewide Strategy and Planning, Regional Strategy and Planning, Asset Management, and Resiliency & Sustainability. We are looking for an Associate Analyst to join our Asset Management Practice. The Asset Management Practice supports State DOTs, transit agencies, and other public-sector owners in strengthening how they plan for, manage, and invest in infrastructure assets. Our work includes Transportation Asset Management Plans (TAMPs), performance management and target setting, lifecycle cost and risk analysis, deterioration and reliability modeling, data governance and management systems, and the development of analytical tools and dashboards that support maintenance and capital decision-making. This is a hands-on technical role for a motivated Analyst with a strong foundation in transportation asset management and applied analytics. The Associate Analyst will play a central role in executing and delivering asset management analyses, models, tools, and technical products, while also contributing to project management, client interaction, and proposal development. The Associate will contribute to projects such as: Transportation Asset Management Plans (TAMPs); asset performance target setting and needs assessments; lifecycle cost analysis (LCCA) and investment tradeoff analysis; deterioration, reliability, and risk modeling; analytical tools, dashboards, and decision-support applications. They will perform data processing, exploratory data analysis, and statistical modeling using agency asset, condition, and performance datasets. They will also translate technical analysis into clear, defensible findings and well-crafted technical memoranda, reports, and presentations. They will also apply sound professional judgment when working with incomplete, imperfect, or inconsistent data. They will take responsibility for products delivered to clients and take pride in deliverables that reflect well on the clients and on Cambridge Systematics. The Associate Analyst will also help train, manage and mentor junior staff to deliver work products on time and within budget.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesProject Management Delivers all projects on-time, on-budget, and to the client or project managers satisfaction Provides constructive and ongoing feedback to project team members, and mentors junior staff in developing their project delivery skills Provides clear direction to all project staff regarding project objectives and their role in achieving them Develops and implements project delivery plan for each project Project Delivery Plans, produces and delivers exceptional quality work that is thorough, polished, and reflects well on CS Provides exceptional value-added service to project managers and/or clients and communicates consistently with internal and external team members Actively listens and seeks to understand client or project manager needsBusiness Development Participates in regional, business unit, practice area, and other business development initiative meetings to identify and coordinate BD and marketing activities Contributes to sound bid/no-bid decisions Develops effective win themes, teaming strategies, pricing strategies, and technical content for all proposals in area of responsibility Builds and maintains long-term client relationships and actively listens to their needs Builds strong positive relationships with management and senior consultants, and marketing & communications staff to develop winning proposals Position Requirements

- Bachelors degree in Planning, Civil Engineering, Public Policy, Transportation Economics, or a related area, and 5+ years of relevant professional experience, with demonstrated involvement in transportation asset management or closely related analytical work, including experience managing projects and delivering project work on time and within budget OR
- Masters Degree or PhD in Planning, Civil Engineering, Public Policy, Transportation Economics, or a related area, with a focus on asset management and 3+ years of relevant professional experience, with demonstrated involvement in transportation asset management or closely related analytical work, including experience managing projects and delivering project work on time and within budget
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Strong and effective communication, presentation, and technical writing skills
- Strong applied analytics skills, including: Programming in R and/or Python; Data processing and exploratory data analysis; Statistical or quantitative modeling
- A strong preference for previous or current asset management experience and/or educational background
- A professional network in the transportation asset management sector
- Experience in public sector consulting and/or professional services
- Experience with one or more of the following: deterioration or reliability modeling of infrastructure assets; lifecycle cost analysis under varying data maturity levels; asset valuation methods; multi-objective decision analysis; TAMP development
- Experience developing analytical tools or interactive products (e.g., GIS-based tools, R Shiny, dashboards,)
- Familiarity with asset management systems, asset inventories, and relational databases
- Experience with diversified asset types and clients
