Position Summary:
The Senior Loan Operations Specialist is responsible for servicing the Bank’s loan portfolio providing guidance and direction to the Loan Operations Team. The role assists in ensuring the efficient, accurate, and compliant processing, servicing, and reporting of a broad range of loan products, including mortgage, consumer, small commercial, and lines of credit.
The Specialist maintains high operational and service standards, supports internal and external customers, and ensures adherence to all applicable regulatory requirements and Bank policies. The position works collaboratively with department managers, officers, and subsidiary partners to facilitate effective workflows, resolve complex operational issues, and foster strong cross-functional relationships throughout the organization. This is a hybrid position and will require weekly onsite availability.
Job Duties / Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day guidance and support to the Loan Operations team to ensure consistent, efficient, and accurate processing.
- Assist in ensuring all loan processing, servicing, and reporting activities comply with applicable regulatory requirements, internal policies, and procedures.
- Monitor operational workflows to identify inefficiencies, risks, or control gaps and recommend or implement process improvements.
- Review and resolve complex loan servicing issues, escalations, and exceptions in a timely and professional manner.
- Support internal and external customers by responding to inquiries, resolving concerns, and ensuring high service standards are maintained.
- Collaborate with department managers, officers, and subsidiary partners to maintain effective communication and coordinated workflows.
- Assist with loan reporting, reconciliations, and data accuracy to support management, audit, and regulatory needs.
- Participate in audits, examinations, and internal reviews by providing documentation, explanations, and corrective actions as required.
- Serve as a subject matter resource for loan operations processes, systems, and regulatory requirements.
- Support training, knowledge sharing, and cross-functional collaboration within the Loan Operations team.
- Promote strong internal controls, operational consistency, and continuous improvement across loan operations functions.
- Complete all assigned mandatory and regulatory training within required time frames.
- Maintain a work area that ensures the safety and confidentiality of all customer records and transactions.
- Understand and comply with Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering Policies and Procedures as appropriate.
- Confidently embody the values of CBT.
- Represent Community Bankshares Inc and/or its subsidiaries in the community and at community events as appropriate.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:

- Understand and apply statutory and regulatory compliance matters as appropriate for your position.
- Proficiently utilize a computer and the software applicable to this position.
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years in servicing environment. USDA/SBA and mortgage real estate experience a plus.
- Demonstrated excellence in working with peer teams across organizations.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite and banking software programs and platforms.

The pay range for this role is:
