Quality Assurance Lead at Eravant – Torrance, California

The Lead Quality Inspector is the process owner for Quality Assurance within the organization. This role focuses on proactive minimization, process governance and continuous improvement across engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain activities. The QA Lead ensures the organization maintains and improves compliance with AS9100, customer requirements, and internal quality standards.

AS9100 Process Ownership & Compliance

• Serve as the primary process owner for assigned AS9100 clauses (e.g. internal audits, risk management, configuration management, corrective action)
• Maintain and improve QA procedures, work instructions , and quality system documentation.
• Conduct internal audits and ensure audit findings are effectively addressed with RCCA.
• Support external audits.

Risk Management & Preventive Quality

• Lead risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential failures.
• Drive implementation of risk based thinking across manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain processes.
• Identify systemic risks and implement preventive actions that reduce process variation, RMAs, and cost of poor quality.

Cross Functional Collaboration

• Collaborate with Engineering during design reviews to ensure manufacturability, process capability, and risk controls.
• Partner with QC, Document Control, and Manufacturing to ensure process flows are current, controlled and effective.
• Work closely with Supply Chain on vendor qualification, SCARs, and vendor performance monitoring.

Data analysis & Quality Reporting

• Analyze quality metrics and identify trends that require preventive or corrective actions.
• Maintain records that support traceability, and audit readiness.

• HS Diploma or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing Engineering, or related technical field preferred.
• 3+ years of experience working within an AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality management system in a quality focused role.
• Proficient understanding of AS9100 Rev. D clauses, including configuration management, design & development, risk-based thinking, supplier control, and production controls.
• Experience participating in or leading: Root Cause, Corrective Action investigations, Internal Audits, Risk assessments
• CAPA management
• Experience developing or improving quality procedures, work instructions, and process flows.
• Experience with supplier quality management, including vendor surveys, SCARs, and performance tracking.
• Ability to analyze quality data and identify trends.
• Familiarity with standard inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and pin gauges.
• High attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills required.
• Able to work autonomously and consistently.
