This role is a high-impact, technically focused position bridging HDD technology, manufacturing operations, and business strategy. You will provide senior-level analytical and modeling expertise to translate complex technical and manufacturing realities into actionable insights for product strategy, pricing, and competitive positioning. Working across engineering, operations, finance, and commercial teams, you will ensure decisions are informed by rigorous, data-driven analysis. This position requires deep HDD knowledge, strong quantitative and analytical skills, and the ability to communicate technical insights clearly to senior stakeholders. Your work will directly influence product roadmaps, investment decisions, and operational efficiency while shaping strategic business outcomes. The role offers hybrid or remote flexibility, allowing you to contribute from multiple U.S. locations.
- Develop and maintain detailed quantitative models based on HDD architecture, physics, component behavior, and system-level interactions.
- Create forecasts and scenario analyses that reflect cost structures, manufacturing constraints, and market assumptions.
- Analyze cost structures at component and system levels, including mechanical, magnetic, electronic, and production elements.
- Conduct competitive cost analyses and translate technology differences into actionable insights for product positioning and pricing.
- Partner with business, pricing, and portfolio teams to influence strategy and operational decisions.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and technology teams to guide decisions with technical credibility and data-driven insight.
- Establish scalable analytical frameworks and maintain transparent, well-documented models for long-term decision making.
Requirements:
- Extensive experience in technical modeling, systems analysis, or technology strategy, preferably in storage or hardware technology industries.
- Deep understanding of HDD architecture, physics, components, and manufacturing processes.
- Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills; experience building structured, repeatable models.
- Knowledge of storage market dynamics, competitive analysis, and total cost of ownership methodologies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to present technical insights to senior executives and cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to work with ambiguous data and requirements while driving actionable conclusions.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Applied Sciences, Operations Research, or equivalent experience.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% as required.
