Position Overview
The CAMLab Fellowship is a research-driven, practice-based position for emerging scholars and practitioners interested in the future of art, technology, and cultural storytelling. Situated at the intersection of art history, cognitive science, and media innovation, the fellowship explores how computational methods, multimedia systems, and digital technologies are reshaping art education, museum experiences, and the production and transmission of cultural knowledge.
This position is designed for individuals who seek both theoretical depth and hands-on engagement, combining critical inquiry with active participation in CAMLab’s interdisciplinary projects and public-facing programs.

Key Responsibilities
1. Research and Critical Inquiry
  • Conduct independent and collaborative research on the impact of digital technologies (e.g., AI, data visualization, immersive media, biofeedback systems) on art education, museum practice, and cultural storytelling.
  • Contribute to conceptual frameworks such as cognitive aesthetics, experiential heritage, and media theory.
  • Produce research outputs, including reports, presentations, or exhibition texts.
2. Interdisciplinary Project Participation
  • Engage directly in CAMLab’s ongoing projects, working alongside scholars, designers, technologists, and artists.
  • Explore how diverse disciplines—art history, computer science, design, neuroscience, and beyond—are integrated through hands-on, collaborative practice.
  • Contribute to the development of immersive installations, digital platforms, and experimental storytelling formats.
3. Educational and Public Program Development
  • Participate in the design and implementation of educational initiatives, workshops, and public programs.
  • Assist in shaping new models of art education that incorporate interactive, multimedia, and experiential approaches.
  • Support exhibition-related programming, including tours, lectures, and audience engagement strategies.
4. Institutional Ecology and Collaboration
  • Gain insight into the ecology of a non-profit art research institute, including project development, communication strategies, and institutional partnerships.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners across academia, museums, and cultural organizations.
  • Contribute to program coordination, documentation, and outreach efforts.
Learning Outcomes and Opportunities
  • Develop a nuanced understanding of how emerging technologies are transforming the cultural sector.
  • Gain first-hand experience in interdisciplinary collaboration and project-based research.
  • Build practical skills in exhibition-making, digital media production, and program organization.
  • Engage with leading scholars and practitioners at the forefront of art, technology, and cognitive research.
  • Cultivate the ability to bridge theory and practice in innovative and impactful ways.

Basic Qualifications
  • Background in art history, museum studies, media studies, design, architecture, digital art, or related fields.
  • Strong interest in the intersection of art, cultural heritage, and future museum practice.
  • Ability to think critically and work collaboratively across disciplines.
  • Interest in both conceptual research and hands-on project development.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Excellent language skills in English and Asian languages.

  • - Ability to form collaborative and effective working relationships.
  • - Strong team building aptitude.
