About This Position
Overview:
The Facilities Support Associate plays a vital role in supporting facility operations, performing routine maintenance, ensuring building safety, and assisting with general upkeep. The Associate works collaboratively with DFCC Leadership, clinical teams reporting to the Facility Coordinator. The FSA must demonstrate professionalism, cultural sensitivity, reliability, and a strong commitment to the mission and philosophy of Damian Family Care Centers, Inc.
Essential Job Duties
· Perform routine facility inspections, maintenance tasks, including minor carpentry, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and HVAC support and report maintenance concerns with recommendations for improvement.
· Inspect buildings, equipment, and building systems to identify maintenance needs, safety hazards, or operational concerns.
· Troubleshoot and resolve minor facility issues; escalate complex repairs appropriately.
· Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance, repairs, and preventive service.
· Assist with painting, patching, repair work, and general upkeep of building interiors and exteriors.
· Support security measures, including responsibility for building keys and controlled access.
· Demonstrate knowledge of emergency procedures, fire safety, and facility safety plans.
· Clear snow, ice, and debris from entrances, sidewalks, and walkways to ensure safe access.
· Assist with furniture assembly, office moves, room setups, and event support.
· Support shipping, receiving, and inventory movement of maintenance supplies and materials.
· Safely operate hand tools and power tools as required.
· Adhere to all agency policies, including patient rights, confidentiality standards, safety protocols, and dress code requirements.
· Maintain regular and punctual attendance with flexibility as operational needs require.
· Complete all mandatory training and continuing education requirements.
· Demonstrate cultural competence and respect for diverse patient populations and staff.
Non-Essential Job Duties
- Provide general operational support to administrative or clinical staff as requested.
- Assist with special projects or facility-related initiatives.
- Perform other related duties consistent with the position’s purpose.
Qualifications & Skills
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum three (3) years of driving experience with a valid New York State driver’s license and a clean driving record to DFCC Standard.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in building cleaning and maintenance, including responsibility for minor mechanical equipment repair.
- Working knowledge of building plans and basic utilities systems.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate sound judgment.
- Willingness to submit to alcohol and/or drug screening.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends as needed.
- Ability to relate to staff, community partners, and the public in a courteous and professional manner.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.
- Experience working in a healthcare or community-based setting.
- Experience coordinating vendors or facility service contracts.

- Work environment includes travel between community sites, residential facilities, and health center locations.
