Phlebotomist at Upson Regional Medical Center – Thomaston, Georgia

Collects specimens for analysis by the laboratory and processes the finished reports; knows policies and procedures and adheres to all; knows the importance of age-specific needs as defined in the age-specific competency checklist.

Education Requirement:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Training for Phlebotomy, Medical Assistant, EMT, or related field that teaches venipuncture from an accredited program.

License, Certification, Etc:

• BLS is required before working alone with patients.
• Chain of Custody Collection Certification within 90 days from date of hire.

Experience:

• No minimum

Prefer:

• 1 year experience in a hospital environment as a phlebotomist, lab processor, or lab assistant
