INFUSION PHARMACY SPECIALIST - NON-ONCOLOGY PHARMACY at East Alabama Medical Center – OPELIKA, Alabama

The Infusion Center Pharmacist provides pharmaceutical care through the provision of patient-centered clinical service, medication information, education, medication preparation and distribution that ensures safe, effective, and cost-efficient medication therapy. Works with a multidisciplinary team exercising sound judgment and developed clinical skills to provide input to and implement the patient's plan of care based on the diagnosis in a timely manner. The pharmacist will oversee the operations of the pharmacy ensuring adherence to productivity and quality standards, internal policy requirements and external regulations.

The Infusion Pharmacist is responsible for the optimization of drug therapy by identifying, resolving, and preventing drug-related problems and adverse events. The pharmacist accepts responsibility, authority, and accountability for management and provision of care in accordance with the current EAMC policies and procedures. The pharmacist is responsible for leading efforts in the prevention and reporting of medication errors and adverse drug reactions according to policy and works to continuously improve process and practice in the department to enhance safety of medication therapy. Pharmacists must maintain competence in all aspects of current clean room operations, aseptic techniques, and pharmacy standards including the safe handling of hazardous medications (USP <795>, <797>, <800>).
