Overnight Supervisor Adult Services Overview
The Overnight Supervisor, Adult Services functions as a shift supervisor for the residential program and is responsible to assist program leadership in the safe and effective operations of the program on the overnight shift. This position assists with training and implementation of clinical behavioral interventions and teaching strategies for individuals in the residential setting where applicable. Ensures the highest level of care, service and engagement with the residents of the homes. Ensures completion of overnight chore checklists and that all staff duties are performed in a timely and accurate manner. Ensures the cleanliness and safety of the homes. Ensures sleep data collection, and behavioral/clinical data when / if residents are awake. Assists with ensuring all requirements are met for acquiring and maintaining all applicable licenses, certifications and accreditations.
Schedule and Salary Information
- Schedule: Sunday-Wednesday 11:00 PM-9:00 AM
- Location: Aston and Springfield homes
- Starting Rate: $21.50/hour (+) based on years of experience
Requirements
- Four (4) years of work experience working directly with individuals with an intellectual disability or autism OR A bachelor’s degree, an associate’s degree or 60 credit hours from an accredited college or university and 1 year of work
- A valid US driver’s license and a minimum age of twenty-one (21) years old. Must be capable of attaining approved Melmark driver status.
- Working knowledge of Windows Operating Systems and proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral are required. Strong organizational skills and problem-solving skills are also required.
Overnight Supervisor Responsibilities
- Actively and consistently makes rounds to all houses and observes staff performance and completes the required documentation on the overnight shift report. ((e.g. stool charts, body checks, behavior incident reports, Bed Checker and accident injury reports; including proper notifications).
- Ensures that programs meet all regulatory requirements of various regulating agencies. Ensures homes are 100% “survey ready” at all times. e.g., medication administration policy, medication drop off to respective programs after ordering/re-ordering has occurred, Fire drill compliance.
- Ensures that staff are actively and appropriately engaged with residents during waking hours and ensures that all activities in the house and all music, television programs, etc are designed around needs, interests and abilities of residents and not the preferences of the staff.
- Responds to all incidents and emergencies in accordance with Incident Management Policies.
- Ensures staff compliance to all overnight cleaning expectations (e.g., checklists, chore charts, resident bedtime routines, sleep or toileting protocols, and any dressing, grooming or changing needs experienced on the overnight shift (i.e., implement bedtime or toileting schedules, repositioning schedules etc.).
- Provides ongoing performance feedback to staff, both positive and constructive as appropriate, during each shift.
- Keeps staff apprised of all program changes, resident changes, policy changes and/or other relevant information in a timely and thorough manner.
- Takes call out information, seeks alternative coverage and communicates of the same with scheduler and program leadership.
