PUBLIC SERVICES WORKER II at City of Greer – Greer, South Carolina

The City of Greer is accepting applications for a Public Services Worker II in our Public Services Department.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs various street maintenance duties such as cutting grass and trimming trees, sidewalk maintenance, storm drainage maintenance, and ditch and ROW maintenance.
• May perform a variety of tasks in the construction, modification, maintenance and repair of streets, curbs, gutters, sidewalks, storm drains, graffiti removal, and traffic signs.
• Operates equipment for snow removal from streets and sidewalks.
• Cleans streets by picking up trash and debris and cleaning ditches and drains.
• Performs minor repairs on City buildings as needed.
• Completes assigned work orders provided by the Public Services Supervisor or Crew Team Leader on a regular basis.
• Receives and/or reviews various records and reports such as maintenance route lists, daily hour logs, and vehicle preventative maintenance checklist.
• Prepares and/or processes records and reports as needed.
• Refers to equipment operator's manuals, policy and procedure manuals, codes/laws/regulations, etc.
• Uses a variety of equipment and tools such as lightweight trucks, shovels, rakes, lawn mower, axes, chain saws, weed eater, and various other supplies in the performance of job duties.
• Performs related work as required.

Hours: Monday – Friday; 7:30am – 3:30pm; hours will vary at times due to weather, City festivals, etc.

Salary: Minimum $20.11 hourly, dependent on experience.

EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE - REQUIRED

• High School Diploma or GED equivalency.
• Two (2) years’ experience in roadway maintenance, truck and heavy equipment operation, and/or similar settings.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Must possess a valid Class B CDL license with an acceptable driving record.
