Muskoka Lumber is seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious Warehouse Attendant to join our team at the Mill 2 location in Port Carling. Reporting to the Mill Managewr, you will play a vital role in ensuring our quality and productivity standards are met while maintaining a professional and well-organized facility.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Warehouse Attendant, you are the final gate for quality control and the engine behind our order fulfillment. This role is a blend of physical labor, technical skill, and administrative precision, requiring you to balance manual tasks with digital inventory tracking.
- Build, band, and wrap sales requests while using hand and power tools to resize products and coordinating with the shipper for next-day deliveries
- Execute logistics and administrative tasks such as loading trucks, ensuring proper bunk placement for stacking, and maintaining daily inventory spreadsheets
- Act as a quality control gate by reporting low-grade products to the Mill Manager and obtaining proper authorization before returning any items
- Maintain facility upkeep and housekeeping through floor sweeping, organizing usable extra bunks, and returning cancelled items to stock
- Perform winter maintenance duties including shoveling and sanding walkways while documenting all activities and safety incidents
- Safely operate forklifts and yard equipment to transport materials in compliance with company training while completing daily safety checklists
- Collaborate across all departments and provide backup support to team members and assist with shipping, maintenance, or mill operations as assigned
- Promote a proactive safety culture by following all health and safety regulations, attending training, and using required personal protective equipment

- Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent with any post-secondary education in carpentry or trades viewed as a strong asset
- Proven experience in shipping, receiving, or manufacturing with a specific focus on inventory accuracy and data maintenance
- Strong knowledge of standard building materials including lumber species, common dimensions, treatments, and trim profiles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and G-Suite to maintain accurate order data and handle internal communications
- Physical ability to perform manual labor including lifting up to 50 lbs, stacking materials, and navigating uneven terrain in variable weather conditions
- Valid Forklift and Standard First Aid/CPR-C certification or a demonstrated willingness to obtain these credentials
- Strong attention to detail and hand-eye coordination paired with a proactive, safety-first mindset
- Excellent communication and reliability with the ability to follow instructions, work punctually, and contribute effectively as a team player
- Positive attitude and a willingness to learn new skills, including basic measuring and specialized mill tasks
