Job Title: Lead-Packaging Side - 2nd shift

PURPOSE

To oversee the department and make sure production runs smoothly in absence of the Production Supervisor. Performs tasks necessary to lead and direct production employees in producing a quality product, effectively and on time.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. 1. Inspects product for quality. Identifies bad products or problems with the product and communicates with the Supervisor, Lead and/or QA.

2. Helps supervise and direct the activities of production employees.

3. Coordinates activities by scheduling work assignments and setting priorities.

4. Ensures that production sheets are completed and submitted in an honest and timely manner.

5. In supervisors absence, acts as primary contact for the department.

6. Must be able to perform all jobs within the department.

7. Conducts on-the-job training with new employees.

8. Assumes additional responsibilities and performs special projects as needed or directed by the Supervisor.

9. Interacts professionally on a regular basis with staff, vendors and the general public.

10. Responsible to report food safety, quality or food defense concerns to his/her supervisor or in their absence the QA Manager.

11. Follows all good housekeeping measures, health code regulations, Safety, GMP’s and Food Safety Policies.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS listed below are indicative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to be successful in this position.

Education, Training and/or Experience

1. High School diploma or equivalent.

2. Minimum 2-3 years production experience.

3 Ability to read, write and speak fluent English.

4. Perform basic math skills.

1. Basic experience with Microsoft Office applications, and use of intranet and internet.

2. Well-developed problem solving, team building and staff development skills.

3. Ability to demonstrate a high attention to detail and good follow-up skills.

5. Ability to read and interpret technical documents such as chemical labels, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

9. Must be self-motivated, proactive and solution focused.

10. Ability to tactfully and effectively deal with public and staff in a personable and professional manner.

Certifications, Licenses, registrations

• Electric Pallet Jack Certification will be required after hiring.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

1. Associates degree, or equivalent amount of experience in lead role.
