We are seeking a skilled and dependable Facility & Industrial Maintenance Technician to support both building infrastructure and industrial production equipment. This hands- on role is responsible for maintaining both facility infrastructure and industrial production equipment to ensure a safe, reliable, and efficient manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:As a Facility & Industrial Maintenance Technician, you’ll be a key support to our maintenance functions, handling a wide variety of responsibilities that make a meaningful difference every day:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs to building structures, interiors, and exteriors (doors, walls, floors, roofing, loading docks).
- Conduct regular facility inspections and address safety hazards, wear, or damage.
- Perform general upkeep, including minor painting, surface repairs, and exterior grounds maintenance.
- Support winter operations, including snow removal or vendor coordination.
- Perform basic HVAC and ventilation maintenance (filter changes, belt checks, temperature monitoring) and escalate issues requiring licensed trades.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair facilities up to 600V, including lighting, outlets, panels, and controls, within company policy and applicable safety regulations.
- Repair plumbing systems, fixtures, and piping to prevent leaks and water damage.
- Maintain compressed air systems, air compressors, and other facility utilities.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair industrial production equipment used in extrusion cutting, bending, pressing, and laser cutting.
- Perform mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repairs, including replacing bearings, belts, valves, cylinders, pumps, sensors, and motion components.
- Complete scheduled preventive maintenance to extend equipment life and prevent unplanned downtime.
- Conduct operational and safety checks following maintenance or repairs.
- Perform basic machine electrical work not requiring an electrical license (sensors, switches, fuses, wiring connections).
- Identify and correct safety hazards; support fire alarm, security, and emergency systems.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspections, and parts usage.
- Coordinate and support external contractors for specialized repairs and facility projects.
- Minimum Mechanic (Millwright), Red Seal designation or equivalent.
- A strong industrial and mechanical background
- Experience with electrical equipment (controls, motors) and electronic computer systems.
- Using maintenance software example: TPM Software (MP2)
- Strong troubleshooting and computer skills with a systematic approach to problem solving
- The ability to work under minimal supervision and be dependable. Some on-call work will be required for other shifts.
- Must be able to travel within Canada and the US, hold a valid passport and driver’s license.
- Experience in a unionized environment is considered an asset.
