Reports to: Deputy Director of Mission Operations

Our lighter-than-air high-altitude platform systems (LTA HAPS) are capable of maintaining position over an operational area in the stratosphere (altitudes of 18 – 21km). They can carry multiple telecommunications, imaging and remote sensing payloads, providing unique functionality, cost, environmental and societal advantages.
Our HAPS be deployed in a matter of days and at a fraction of the cost of traditional infrastructure solutions. This makes them an ideal solution for providing telecommunications connectivity, emergency solutions in the event of natural or other disasters, environmental and infrastructure monitoring, Earth observation and a range of defense applications.

About the Position:
Sceye is seeking a full-time Recovery Lead who will travel globally to enact recovery operations for our stratospheric platforms. The role involves managing complex retrieval missions in diverse international environments, ensuring that HAPS assets are safely secured and returned to operational control.
The Recovery Lead will be multifunctional across Mission Operations, with a primary depth in recovery logistics and a secondary ability to support mission planning and live mission operations.
- Lead and enact global recovery operations across Latin America, the Middle East, Africa, and Europe, with future expansion into Southeast Asia.
- Negotiate with local authorities and landowners to facilitate the safe retrieval of assets.
- Travel extensively to remote and austere locations on short notice to support mission success.
- Work closely with Mission Operations and Safety to integrate recovery lessons learned into future mission sets.
- Maintain accurate recovery records and mission documentation.
- Help identify repetitive recovery tasks that may benefit from automation or improved tooling.
- Provide surge support to other Mission Operations functions as operational tempo requires.
- Perform console operations and support mission planning activities as required during flight tests.
- Participate in post-mission debriefs and resolution of anomalies.

Required Qualifications:
Mission Dedication:
- Must be able to work whatever hours are needed to complete the mission; this is considered a core skill.

Field Experience:
- Proven ability to operate effectively in austere environments where safety and discipline matter.
Global Mobility:
- Willingness to be multi-functional and travel extensively across diverse geographical regions.
Professional Approach:
- Positive, adaptable, and detail-oriented approach to problem-solving.
Preferred Qualifications:
Aviation/Maritime Experience:
- Prior experience in aviation operations or maritime recovery environments.
Environmental Expertise:
- Previous experience operating in jungle or desert conditions.
Mission Background:
- Prior military, UAV, or flight test operations background.
Language Skills:
- Proficiency in languages relevant to our primary areas of operation (e.g., Spanish, Arabic, or French)
