Summary

As part of Martin Bionics Clinical Care, the Patient Advocate manages the clinic’s administrative process and is integral to communication with our patients, referral sources, and clinical team. This person is primarily responsible for obtaining the documentation needed to treat patients and build a complete and compliant chart. The Patient Advocate acts as a financial advocate for the patient throughout their journey with Martin Bionics, from initial consultation to final delivery and follow-up care.

Primary DutiesProvide the highest level of customer service to patients, fellow team members, and referral sources.Requesting and obtaining compliant documents from referral sources.Maintain accurate and complete electronic files.Manage work in progress (WIP) process.Coordinate and communicate with designated practitioner.Create service estimates and patient financial documentation, and counsel patients on their financial responsibilities.Provide consistent support to patients both in the clinic and through preliminary and follow-up conversations.Perform chart scrubs to ensure a complete and compliant chart, prior to sending for authorization or delivery.Coordinate efforts with Reimbursement team to ensure clinic processes support timely and accurate claim submission.Ensure the privacy and security of protected health information per HIPAA requirements.All other job duties as assigned.Characteristics of the Ideal CandidateArticulate - Both verbally and in writing.Collaborative - Constructively workshop solutions to problems with others.
