Job Title: Senior Staff Accountant
Company: Boise City and Ada County Housing Authorities
Location: 1001 S. Orchard St., Boise, Idaho 83705
Type: Full-Time, 10-hour shifts from Monday - Thursday
Salary: From $62,318
Are you an experienced accountant with a passion for public service? The Boise City / Ada County Housing Authorities are currently seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in managing payroll and benefit administration, as well as overseeing grant administration processes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the preparation and review of complex reconciliations, including multi-entity consolidations.
• Oversee the financial management of grants, including detailed reporting, compliance monitoring, and stakeholder coordination.
• Ensure adherence to federal and state regulations governing grant funds.
• Support external audits by preparing detailed schedules and responding to auditor inquiries.
• Partner with the Finance Manager and department leaders to streamline financial operations.
• Prepare detailed financial analyses and reports to support organizational decision-making.
• Collaborate with the Finance Manager on the preparation of financial statements and Board presentations.
• Responsible for assisting with payroll, bank reconciliations, accounts payable, various HUD reporting including VMS, 1099 preparation, and budget preparation.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in accounting, with a strong preference for housing authority, governmental or grant accounting.
• Proficiency in relevant accounting software – Yardi is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Advanced certifications such as CPA, CMA, or CGFM are highly desirable.
