Job Description
Position: Mechanic, Hoist Assembly – Level 1
Location: Capital Motors - Dallas, TX
FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt

Hyperion Solutions is currently seeking an Operator, Assembly for our Titan, McIntosh, Capital location, in Hillside, NJ or Dallas, TX. Hyperion is constantly looking for talented, self-motivated, skilled team members to join our team. Reporting to the Production Supervisor, this position plays an integral part in meticulously assembling parts or components to exact specifications, contributing to the efficient production of high-quality finished products. By executing assembly tasks with precision and adhering to safety and quality standards, this position plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of the manufacturing process and the delivery of products that meet or exceed customer expectations.
Level 1 Summary:
Entry level role responsible for basic mechanical disassembly, cleaning, material handling, and support tasks under direct supervision. The incumbent learns foundational mechanical skills, assists higher level mechanics, and contributes to maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient workflow.
Primary Responsibilities:
Basic Mechanical Disassembly & Support
Assist with disassembling commercial elevator hoist assemblies, including motor housings, brake components, and gearbox housings, under direct supervision.
Support Level 2 and Level 3 mechanics with pressing bearings, hubs, and bearing hub assemblies on and off shafts following instructions and safety procedures.
Clean and organize parts after disassembly, ensuring components are correctly tagged and staged for inspection or machining.
Remove bolts, covers, guards, and simple subassemblies using standard hand tools.
Assembly Preparation & Rebuild Assistance
Assist with basic steps of reassembly, such as:
o Cleaning gasket surfaces
o Applying lubrication
o Aligning simple components
o Preparing parts for final assembly
Participate in hoist reassembly activities by supporting higher level mechanics with part handling, tool setup, and component positioning.
Notify senior mechanics or supervisors if parts appear damaged or do not fit as expected.
Quality & Workflow Support
Follow work instructions, drawings, and checklists appropriate for Level 1 tasks.
Perform basic measurements (e.g., calipers, ruler, feeler gauges) after training.
Maintain accurate labeling and organization of components throughout the rebuild process.
Communicate any discrepancies, missing parts, or safety concerns immediately.
Packaging, Crating & Warehouse Assistance
Assist with preparing rebuilt assemblies for shipment by supporting crating, wrapping, and securing hardware.
Help the warehouse team move assemblies in and out of the facility using approved lifting or material handling equipment (after training).
Maintain a clean, organized work area consistent with 5S expectations.
Safety & Continuous Improvement
Follow all safety procedures for pressing, lifting, rigging, and handling heavy components.
Wear required PPE and participate in safety training.
Report unsafe conditions or equipment concerns immediately.
Participate in training, cross training, and improvement activities as directed.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Basic mechanical aptitude; prior experience with hand tools or mechanical work is a plus, but not required.
Ability to learn technical drawings, work instructions, and measurement tools.
Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and operate hoists, cranes, or pressing equipment after training.
Reliable attendance and willingness to learn and follow direction.
