CNC Machinist in Wichita, Kansas at VERUS AEROSPACE FINANCE INC

Position Summary

Operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts. Maintain safe, organized and clean work environment. Responsible for set up, inspection, first part buy, and other duties as assigned using a variety of 3-axis, 4-axis and 5-axis, multi-spindle and single-spindle CNC machines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate equipment such as CNC machines, milling machines, and end mills to produce manufactured parts primarily out of inconel and titanium.
• Maintains specifications by observing drilling and cutting; taking measurements with calipers or micrometers; detecting malfunctions; adjusting controls; replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
• Apprenticeship graduate or technical degree helpful.
• Aerospace experience preferred.
• Minimum 1 years of progressively responsible milling experience, aerospace industry is a plus
• Experience/knowledge applicable to fixturing/tooling applications
• Experience with hard metals such as Inconel and titanium is a plus
• Working familiarity with shop planning/tooling
