Brief Job Overview/Summary

The math tutor will work closely with students to help them understand math and math-related concepts, improve problem-solving skills, and support academic success. Tutoring opportunities may be in math, chemistry, physics, accounting, economics, or programming.

Descriptions of Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and small group tutoring sessions to students seeking assistance with various math or math-related courses
• Help students understand course material and develop effective problem-solving strategies
• Monitor student progress and adapt tutoring approaches as needed
• Encourage and motivate students in a supportive learning environment
• Attend required Math Center meetings and training sessions
• Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions on Ospreys Navigate

Required Qualifications:

• Strong academic performance in mathematics, chemistry, physics, accounting, economics, programming, or another math-related field

Preferred Qualifications:

• Completion of at least one year at a college or university
