Millwork & Production Door Puller/Specialist at Frontier Door & Cabinet – Tacoma, Washington

Position Summary

The Millwork & Production Door Puller/Specialist is responsible for independently pulling, preparing, and staging materials to support both field-bound shipments (millwork) and shop production (doors). This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to follow precise specifications with minimal supervision, and effective coordination with production, QC, and warehouse teams to ensure materials flow correctly and on time.

Key Responsibilities

Millwork (Ship-to-Site)

• Independently pull millwork materials (trim, casing, mouldings, shelving, jambs, etc.) according to pick tickets and job-site requirements.
• Cut material to specified lengths when required.
• Bundle, band, and label millwork for accuracy and job-site traceability.
• Stage and load millwork onto curtain-side trucks for delivery.
• Verify all material is complete, damage-free, and matches job-site specifications before shipment.

Production Door Pulling (Shop-Fed)

• Independently pull production doors based on sales orders, work orders, and machining schedules.
• Sort and orient doors correctly for machining centers (hanging, prepping, hardware machining).
• Label, band, and stage doors clearly by project and workstation.
• Enter pulled doors into the inventory system (Agility/Clearly) and transfer them into production status.
• Identify discrepancies, damages, or shortages and resolve issues with leads/QC without delay.
• Maintain an orderly flow of doors into machining and hanging operations.

Inventory & Verification

• Confirm accuracy of all pulls against sales orders and production schedules.
• Assist in cycle counts and maintain accurate stock locations.
• Ensure all millwork and door pulls are clearly documented and traceable.

Safety & Housekeeping

• Safely handle heavy doors (up to 90 lbs.) and long millwork pieces, following lifting guidelines.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and material-handling equipment as required.
• Keep staging and loading areas organized and free of obstructions.

Skills & Qualifications

• 1–2 years warehouse, millwork, or production experience preferred.
• Knowledge of millwork, doors, and construction materials highly desirable.
• Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders, cut lists, and pick tickets.
• Forklift certification (or ability to be certified) required.
• Ability to lift up to 90 lbs. safely.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, production-driven environment.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.

Reporting Structure

• Reports to: Warehouse Lead / Supervisor
• Works closely with: QC Specialist, Machining & Hanging Teams, Dock Staff, Dispatch

Performance Expectations

• Consistently demonstrate ability to complete tasks independently and accurately.
• Maintain 100% accuracy in pulling, labeling, staging, and system transfers.
• Ensure millwork is properly cut, banded, and staged for on-time loading to site.
• Ensure production doors are staged 5 business days in advance of machining schedules.
• Support company standards for safety, quality, and accountability.
