Vet Assistant, Tech Assistant at Leesport Animal Hospital – Leesport, Pennsylvania

Leesport Animal Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Technician Assistant to join our team! We are a full-service veterinary practice located in Berks County, PA. Our Technician Assistants are the primary support for our Veterinary Technicians, and aid the Technicians by relieving them of some routine hospital responsibilities and caring for hospital patients.

Our ideal candidate is someone who loves animals and would like to assist in providing quality, compassionate care for pets. This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in (or already enrolled in) a veterinary technician certification program.

Hours needed: Monday - Friday and must work some Saturdays

Responsibilities:

Handle general care tasks such as walking dogs, washing water bowls and litter boxes, sweeping, cleaning cagesAssist in restraining dogs and catsWashing and folding laundryStocking suppliesSet up and break down of exam rooms and surgery suitesInteract with clients and assist in hospital visitationsAssist veterinarians and technicians during exams and proceduresLab requisitions and answering phones

Qualifications:

Previous experience in animal handling care preferredAbility to interact with animals in a calm, non-threatening mannerAbility to work as part of a teamStrong communication and organizational skillsAbility to lift up to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
